Duratec HE engines
A quick question about duratec turbo conversions. Has anybody used the Mazda Mps engine/block instead of replacing pistons etc in a regular duratec he. I'm sure a regular head from the HE will bolt onto the mps block as its still basically the same engine. But would the mps turbo fit onto the HE head?

The head is a direct injection head so the intake side is different from the ford heads and intake manifolds. Injectors go in on the bottom.

The engine/car that's in the unit is a 2007 car. Fas as I know all the mps units are direct injection but the next time I'm down my dads unit ill take the manifold off to double check.

The ports are totally different to a regular HE:
DI
HE:
...but, the actual flange and studs are in the same space. If you had to you could make it work by bunging the DI injection ports. If not the HE head will bolt on to the MPS block though.

The DI has a pump on the exhaust cam and the pump bolts on the side of the head (gearbox side) I have a feeling it attaches to the cam where the slot is ro time the cam up
