Default help me pick my new reg

after much deliberation ive decided im not spending silly money on a private reg, il use the cash in the capri build.

so ive narrowed it down to these 7 options that I can find on dvla registrations with a £250 limit all in

ME53 GTR for mese gtr
GR57 GTR for great gtr
HR07 GTR for hot gtr
NR05 GTR for nos gtr
YR55 GTR for yours is gtr
N999 BHP for 999 bhp
T999 BHP for 999 bhp
S999 BHP for 999 bhp

I just cant decide so thought id put a poll up and hope you guys can help me decide on the most fitting plate for the money.

I wouldn't bother with any of the first 5 , they're crap. They don't read how you think they do....what exactly does 'mese' mean?
either of the last 3 would do as theyre fairly generic although id wait for something that's a bit more specific or personal....remember if you've got to explain what it means then its shit...

C421 GTR..... Could the use of some strategicly placed fixing screws make that look like "carl gtr"....?

Personally think they all look pretty council... if they are all you're prepared to stretch to, then stay with the standard plate.

GF09 THX is coming of the car I hate it

the plate I really want is 995 BHP but the guide price is £5k which is overpriced imo and im not prepared to pay it so I have to make a choice on a make do plate which im struggling with.

so I want to find a temporary plate for now, and I don't want to add screws to make things look different

I had M40 BHP on my r33 and I quite liked it, it could be said that was "council" but I didn't see it that way and neither did anybody who spoke about it, it was all positive response.

so that's where im at, the cars 962 hp so 999 is the closest available number, or gtr in the plate id also be happy with in this price range.

the only other I have found is 6 XVL but its £1600 which again is a lot when it means nothing to me except to be just a random 4 digit plate.

I could get C6 RLB for £3100 but id have to move it together C6RLB and even then the 6 looks nothing like an A
I then struggle to justify the £3100 expense and dismiss the idea

That's the way it is, the more obvious the spelling the more expensive it is. I couldn't justify £6500 just for a numberplate a few years ago although J4MES would have looked good!

Your doing it the right way, I didn't pay much for my private plate, spend more on the car mods, and I matched the plate to the car rather than my initials, so go with a GTR one imo (first 1 for ME).

As most have said above, those plates will do nothing for your car other than cheapen it. Save your money and get a good one for it.

how can it devalue it when the current plate is so generic ? I don't get that at all, I don't expect it to increase the value at all but it wont decrease it either imo.

I don't need to save any money I have plenty of that, I just wont waste it and thousands of pounds for a meaningless plate seems a waste to me.

if I buy a meaningless plate it needs to be cheap.

defo seems the way to go with gtr or bhp, the car is done that's why I paid so much for one so all the mods are done. im not short of cash but rather than waste thousands on a meaningless plate id rather put that money into the proper wheels and tyres for the zakspeed capri.

By cheapen, I mean make it look cheaper, I'd personally keep the original one on it as it does mean nothing, with the ones posted it looks like you want a plate but only a cheap n tacky one.

And by save I meant don't spend the £250 or whatever on one of the above.

At the end of the day it is your car, if you like them go for it.

I'd be looking at random 4/5 digit plates, they would look a lot better imo

SS you don't need this gimmick on your car. Always let the car be the thing that people notice. Ive been offered plates for mine but it don't make it go faster or be more special. Spend the money on your wife & kids if you have them & let others pretend it enhances there car . YOUR CAR DOES NOT NEED IT .

What are your initials? two numbers and two letters plates are the way to go for reasonable money.

I've just found another but I'm not sure as space needs altering

B9 OHP spaced as B9O HP for 890 hp, and it's 5 digit dirt cheap aswell

letters then numbers are more expensive, so it'd be 27 CB

Look at the next DVLA auction you might be lucky and a CB plate might be in. They reserve at 2700 normally and dont often do much more
