Should be ok if they have a good feedback I reckon mate

If they wont send it to the Uk, you could send it to fastmaul or someone but usually they do.

Ebay??? Dodgy, yes mate its a tiny small internet company so I'd never deal with anything on there

Ebay has a higher daily turnover than the New york stock exchange Doug!!!! so yes there are bound to be some knobs and crooks, but check your sellers feedback and the item very carefully you will be fine!

Doh!

Company i use in states has just dispatched a set of steel rods, a set of forged pistons and a stainless manifold to me this morning, i bet they could have sent one over too at the same time if you had asked this yesterday!

I can give you the contact details of a guy in brazil who does external wastegates cheaply and can be trusted if it helps, dont know if he does Tial ones specifically though.

Chip,
Not quite quick enough .

Firstly, get a bigger screen, it works okay on mine .

Secondly, fair comment about the spelling mistake .

Thirdly, go and find the real price for one and then tell me I am ripping people off . Obviously I import them legitimately and have to pay duty etc.

Fourthly, I have one in stock .

Mike, i have a fantastically large screen thanks, i just choose to have more than one window visible at once.
Anyway I thought that the internet was all about an interface usable by all not just yourself, but what would i know about the internet, its not like im some expert or anything

I removed my comments because i decided there was no point them being here, as its none of my business at the end of the day and ive no wish to fall out with anyone on here over something that doesnt concern me.

If you have one in stock and doug needs it in a hurry then fair enough if he wants to pay the price you charge, but the question was where is the CHEAPEST place i can get one from, which clearly you arent, but then again if he wants the convenience of having it quickly and knowing he is dealing with someone who exists and can be got hold of instead of some ebayer in the states then thats cool.

The one on ebay is just under Ł300 + shipping plus import duty, so I don't think I'm far off .

To think I WAS going to give you a ride round the 'Ring .

Lol at your quick edit about 46mm instead of 44mm, fair play, but 44mm is still perfect for dougy anyway.

PMSL @ Mike!

I would imagine that about 6-8psi or so doug, you dont want to go too high as it will be too slow to react, but if you go too low you will get wastegate creep potentially, its all dependant on how it is setup though, so ask Brom what one he wants to work with.

46mm ones here that i just found on google as well, slightly dearer though, 510 dollars each:

http://www.importperformance.com/tial/apps.html

They do a 40mm one for only 340 though, and i really cant see you needing any more than 40mm, but again speak to Brom as its his build.

46mm is an extremely large wastegate, when you think what a small proportion of gasses actually go down it in the first place (as its only for the excess gas that would overspin the turbo, so you are only leaking a small percentage of your exhaust gasses off anyway)

But as ive never personally owned a GT35 turbo, i can only make extrapolations based on what i know of wastegate sizes on other turbos, so im sure that someone like Brom will be able to give you a more definitive answer.

found the 38mm one for less than 200 dollars! 44mm's a pain in the arse.

wait till Steve comes on line, he's bound to know the best/cheapest place to get one from other than Mike Ripoffbird

Still looks a fair way out to me mike, but its all relative i guess.

Depends on how you are doing it, if Doug had asked yesterday before my order was disptached i could have had one landed here for him and tax paid etc for change of 300 quid probably by the end of next week when my order arrives but ordering a single one is dear

I'm with Mike here to be honest.

Fook skimping around to try and save yourself 36.5p or whatever. I would always buy from a trusted and well respected person who can offer good service, advice and back up

I'm all for competitive prices and hate getting ripped off but if you always try and nickel and dime then the GENUINE traders and tuners who offer a genuine service and good products end up being driven out of business.

Rant over!

Porkie i agree to a certain extent as well, but like i said if doug could have lumped it in with my order he wouldnt have had those risks and would have saved at least a 100 quid.

Fair enough Chip. I totally see your point of course.

But its hardly like Mikes or Brom are Rip off merchants... They offer good products, good service and great advice to people. That needs paying for somehow....

If we all take all their advice and then buy off some yank selling nicked stuff cheap out of his bedroom that may or may not be suitable for what we actually need then we all end up fooked.

I realise I am blowing this TOTALLY out of proportion and taking it to the absolute extremes of reason but I know a few people in this business and they are just trying to make money like the rest of us.

look at the trouble I've caused

I can see both sides.........Almost feel bad if I dont buy one from Mike Rainbird now.....

But then, it's in my nature to purchase wisely and get "the best deal"..........and the whole exchange rate thing bites hard........I'm not selling ANY of my speakers in the USA now......whereas a couple of years ago when the exchange rate was 1.42 (ish) I would sell at least a couple of pairs per month........

So it only seems natural to take advantage by buying from the USA whenever possible..............But then I dont want Mike R to go without food on the table either
