Default F1 US Grand Prix

8pm Looks like a bit of nip and tuck from the Mercedes team with Nico taking pole from this one and Lewis sitting over his shoulder.

It's bonkers to think 10th spot is almost 3 seconds off the pole sitter

Its a very technical track and flowing so car with understeer will loose a massive amount of time

That's a bigger than normal gap between the two mercs, I wonder if Hamilton was really pushing?

That section they have tried to make like silverstone,
The way the cars change direction thru there, and the grip they are generating is unreal!
Even with the lower downforce cars this year.. Impressive!

What a strange comment, he's a racing driver of course he pushes, they all do

He was allegedly nursing a left disc running slightly cooler than the right but Rosberg had been hiding that pace all weekend, he's fast here. Should be a good tussle if the cars hold up

I was just expecting the top two to be closer, After practice I thought Hamilton would be on pole. I didnt know about the disc issue and thought maybe Hamilton knew he would get the jump at the start of the race so backed off and saved his tires for the race.

It took a while to get going but came good in the end. I'm sad to not see the two folded teams there, but must say the packs were much tighter!
