Default Merc vito people - mate wants to bid on this, ends sunday.

I have no idea about them!

From what i can see the drivers side headlight and grill doesnt line up, drivers side rear cluster is broken and dent etc, the esp light is on but says that in the ad, and there are oil stains on the drive under the front of it. (Could be from something else of course)

He asked my advise, i said to go look at it lol.

What do we think chaps?

We've got a couple at work, not too bad as far as vans go. Only thing I can't get used to is the foot operated handbrake!

I got rid of a 53 plate last year at 130000 miles.
Great engine and gearbox everything else was a nightmare.

The injectors have copper rings to seal in the block and these let go after getting hot and cooling down over the years £450 to fix.

Foot operated parking is rubbish and had to rebuilt for the mot every year despite it being used all the time.

They eat front tyres because the geometry from the factory is wrong and the inner of the tyres wears out.

The rear springs break all the time and mine was not overloaded.

Electric window mechanism in the doors break and the glass falls into the door.

And the body is made from kitkat wrappers and rots like hell.

And they use coolant no the head gasket hadn't gone.

If it has lived by the sea I would run a mile.

Had a 58 plate from new and got rid last year on 140k. The EGR valve went wrong at 4k and the 1 way clutch on the alternator at 120k. Otherwise faultless and found it to be considerably better than the Transporter I now have

Default Vito

We have had all makes of van inc transporters, we have six vitos at the moment, other the normal things, in three years we have replaced one prop and one ignition module. All our vans are treated like shit and thrashed up and down the m1 covering 30k + miles. We have not had a single breakdown since we swopped to mercs unlike when we had vivaros

They do have rust issues but if u keep on top of that they great reliable vans.
