Been to florida about 14 times, 2-4weeks at a time, lovelly place. . GREAT for kids, or big kids even adults will have an excellent time there, so much to do and see, like a diff planet!

Good hotel on international drive i stayed in allot towards the end, Omni rosen its called huge building, great facilities and VERY clean! got a conference centre and 2 story garage (shows the size of the place!)
Oh if u go there, u GOTTA get a banana and nut muffin i miss them LOL
Also a shopping centre/cinema complex across road from it! Bus's and restraunts surrounding the place also.

Heres pics of the hotel:

Also if u got time go to clearwater beach/Daytona beach so much to do, u NEED to go a fair few times if u want to see/do it all

Food is amazing, Steaks *drool*

**Edit**
jus noticed what you'd said FasterFords, Has the name changed to Rosen Plaza? When i stayed there it was the "Omni Rosen"

Tis the tops

I am off there for about the 8th time in Sept too

If your going to be a tourist and do the sights etc you want to do the following

BOOK THE CHEAPEST HOTEL POSSIBLE as you wont see much of it other than to sleep

Try Masters Inn at Maingate www.mastersinn.com

or use Expedia

Use expedia at the moment and you can buy a 2 day pass for Universal parks and get 12 days FREE yes thats 14 days in the 2 parks at Universal for Ł65 so cool

then seaworld is doing a buy one day get another day FREE as long as used within 14 days for Ł31 quid

Buy your dollars NOW at the rates currently are awesome

Also if your wanting to buy Disney tickets buy them from a US vendor and DHL them here you will save around 40% because of the pricing and $ weakness

http://www.greatorlandodiscounts.com/

Bag those bargains we have

Ill post some pics later for you too

Nige

We are off again soon

International drive is a road - loads of the stuff is on or close to it. Get one of the guide books mate, it really is a good idea - you need to now what you want to do before you go as there is sooo much.

Don't bother with wonderworks looks great from the outside (upside-down building) but it's shite inside. And they charged my credit card twice

Phone call to Morgan stanley went:

Are you sure you didn't go twice Sir?

NO! it was shit the first time!!

Definately do Universal, and the sister park Islands of Adventure. Citywalk is between the 2, and a great place to be in the nightime. Most of the I-drive hotels will have a shuttle to go there as well, free or cheap. Days you will want a car though - driving over there is piss easy. Unless you have kids you can probably do without spending too long in Disney's magic kingdom, but the rest of the disney stuff is worth a look.

There is a tepenyaki restaurant on the side of the Rodeway Inn hotel. Cool with the chef cooking at your table and putting on a good show. nice food too.

Not sure how far from Orlando, but i think there are over 40 bridges connecting the Keys - would be a unique driving experience!!!

Can you imagine a PassionFord Road Trip!!!

I didn't realise at the time, but i think Key West is well liked by the gay community

Looks like over 300 miles all the way to Key West, we'll have to see how it goes.

You have to see Key West! it's like no where else and is proud of being closer to Cuba than the U.S mainland

There was a huge pink house that was moved on rollers to an entirely different street by 2 mules

have a pic somewhere

Depends on what time of year you go and what your interests are.

I lived in Florida for about a year and I hated it. Coultn't wait to leave. Too many geritol junkies out there that still have drivers licenses even though they should have had their license revoked years ago. It is the retirement community for the US.

If you like the beach, I'd recommend the outer banks of North Carolina or Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

If you're an amusement park type, Cedar Point in Ohio and quite a few others are WAY ahead of dizzy world.

If you like history, check out Williamsburg, Virginia. They have an 'authentic, working' colonial village that is pretty neat to see (once)

If you are an 'action' person....Vegas, Reno, Tahoe (probably in that order)

Daytona beach is huge!

Makes any English beach look like a sandpit

Very bizarre driving on the beach, but very cool - loads of watersports too
