Default differences between 3dr to saff

does anybody on here know what the differences are between 3dr runnig gear and 2wd saff running gear or is it a straight swap over

i am going to start a 3dr build and am wondering whether to just buy 2wd saff running gear or original 3dr running gear

i am talking about front xmembers aswell as rear end

also does the 3dr have power strg??or just rack and pinion and is the abs system the same on both cars

sorry for all the questions but i guessed you lot would be the best to ask

As far as I remember, the 3dr hubs are slightly different, and the rear ARB mounts differently on the beam.

Nearly everything from a saff will fit onto a 3 door!
The main differences are the front hubs + arb, the rear arb and arms and the gearbox crossmember! Pretty much everything else will fit.

here you go
all cossie are fitted with ABS
the bulkheads are the same
3 doors use different hubs and botom arms to sapphire but alkl are interchangable
3Doors have a slightly diffrent front roll bar
3 Doors have a different rear anti roll bar as its mounted on the out side of the rear arms plus its thinner
Iam led to belive a sapphire roll bar will not mount into a 3 door shell due to the hole mounting points
The gearbox X member is also different to a sapphire so this would also have to be changed

So does that mean the complete abs could be removed from a saff and put into the 3 door?

So basicaly what i said then Pete
The 3 door rear arb is wider and mounts to the outside of the rear arms where as the saff one mounts to the inside of the saff rear arms! The 3 door rear arb also mounts onto the chasis in a different place which is why a saff one won't fit!

As Pete says above!
The reason for this is that the 3 door abs ecu is located behind the drivers footwell side panel where as on a saff it is located above the engine ecu on the passenger side of the dash. This means the loom for the 3 door will be longer but will still fit

Your engine loom will be fine
We are talking about the abs loom which attaches to the car loom!
