Default thoughts on terraclean? ??

Was wondering if anybody has had a terraclean on there engine and if its any good for £250... a few garages have recommended it to me to clean out my egr valve and relevant pipes but Im really not sure to have it or buy a new valve for 120 and get it fitted for 120 and get the values reset... both roughly cost the same to do but which is best??? Would love ur comments im really in a pickle here

It was done on wheeler dealer. I think they were doing a jag xk8 and one of the problems it had was high emissions. Edd rigged up the terraclean machine to the engine and when it had done it's job he ran the car up to temp and tested the emissions again. The results were really good with a much lower emissions reading

Edd China I think is paid by Terraclean to promote their products. He was on every bloody advert they used to print in the papers. Personally, I would be tempted to give it a go, but i think that the gunk in my engine is what is holding it together!

Yes iv seen that episode but I was wondering if it would unblock my frozen egr... I dont wanna replace the egr for it to get blocked up again by the very stuff which has blocked the one already on...

This is what I was looking at - http://www.mobilemechanicwalsall.mobi/EGR-Cleaner.html

Iv rang him and he said he removes the egr and soaks it then cleans it...

On your thread about the EGR I explained what fails on them, Terraclean/miracle in a can won't fix that.

These engines are known for turbo failures because of oil supply problems as it is.

Also read your other thread, do they think they can fix the EGR valve being 'stuck' with Terraclean?????

Er.. these get 'stuck' because of corrosion inside the motor/position sensor not the valve part thats in the intake that gets gummed up.

Thought about having the st done but tbh I'm very sceptical of this,
I mean we all know even mild carbon deposits are like concrete to remove when refreshing
Internals invariably needing machine finishing.

So how can this miracle liquid dissolve it in an hour??

I'm sensing its just a fuel system/injector cleaner and that's it.

Ok thanks for input and ur help I think im just gonna fit a new valve on I just thought id ask about the terraclean beacuse the last thing I want is to fit a new one for it to get blocked up again... I know the electrical part of the valve is working fine its the valve itself which is stuck/frozen

I've never had a car done but a garage down the road is an agent and I've been in there when they've done a car and I've seen the before and after of inlets and efr valves and associated pipe work and it looks like its been steam cleaned out not minty mint but no build up just slight staining , if I needed a customers car doing if defo try it 100% especially having looked into how it works !
