Default Barn find values?

Why when anyone puts barn find in the title do they want stupid prices? Recently got myself another escort convertible (barn find) lol but unsure what it's going to be worth complete as a resto, I'm in 2 minds weather to sell it on whole to keep another one on the road or break it for bits and lose another to he scrap yard in the sky.

Normally it indicates that the car will be original and packed with rare original parts and so worth lots restored or in parts.

But if it aint rare, original or full of hard to source bits, it is what they call scrap.

It makes you think this not been tuned and nice and std. Now in the case of a old ferrari or lambo this makes sence. It would sell it as some one can do it up a enjoy it.

That's similar to what I'm thinking but obviously there are people out there with more money than sense who buy them.

I recently bought 3 escorts,2 xrs and 1 rs1600i,all fall under the 'broke down 15 years ago and got parked up category',all are stripped except the suspension and wheels.
A guy came and bought the rs and loved the fact it was so rotten but had not been restored, the xr's are on eBay and reserve is set at what they cost me,didn't buy them to make money, just to save them from getting any worse.
I bought the rs as I had so much parts lying about the only thing I did not have was a shell so I filled the shell with all the stuff I didn't need and advertised it as that.
All were barn finds as they were in an old farmers barn but none are just needing the tyres pumped up,a battery and some fresh fuel.

Bet your Mrs loves having them at your house I wouldn't even bother asking mine, I'd end up buried at the bottom of the garden first

I only have the white 1 sitting here but I do get it in the ear,I'm quite tidy so there's not stuff lying everywhere or oil stains on the drive.
I usually don't tell her when I'm buying things like this,I just disappear and turn up with them.
She was having a conversation with me 1 day and stopped in her tracks when she spotted the saph cos I had snuck into the dogs garden while she was out having her hair done, she was ok and to be fair she has more shoes than I have cars so fairs fair.

If you've got the land to have them 'out the way' then fair play.

My Mrs would still beat me to death with a shovel and then have a new patio laid

No,not me,the 155 is from my eBay name,when I registered years ago that's what I was allocated.
