Default who do you use to insure your personal car transporters/recovery trucks???

Hi

Looking at getting myself a transit or similar 3.5ton flatbed recovery truck to ferry my fiesta about to track etc,

Obviously insurance cover is going to be a bit different to cars so I suspect there will be more suitable companies who tailor specifically for these kind of vans

Who is best to use and is there anything else I need to know or watch out for? do you have goods in transit cover? is it a lot extra?

Thanks
Marc

I use these guys http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/index.asp
I have our competition car with them as well as the 4x4. The 4x4 is insured as a motorsport support vehicle which gives me cover for tools, spares and race clothing to an agreed value. I can have upto 6 named drivers on the policy but the down side is they won't cover you to drive other vehicles even though both my policies are fully comp.
Price wise for the level of cover i get they are very competitive.

I've got a trade policy through Bollington insurance. £60 a month and I can pretty much drive/ ride anything up to 3.5 tonnes which is on my licence.also can have as many cars insured as I like and if I buy a car I've got 14 days to tell them so don't have to do it right away. If u mess about with cars a lot it's well handy

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like. We have a scheme for single vehicle car transporters / flat beds that are used for tracker cars, classic cars, motor sport vehicles etc. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

Hi,
If you'd like to PM me your details I'd like to take another look at this for you if I may? In the past we were only able to offer Third Party Only cover but this has changed. I can have a look at re-quoting your details and offer a little re-training to the member of staff involved.
Regards,
Dan.
