Hi everyone, i have a mk6 escort finesse and i am looking to find an rs turbo engine to replace my zetec 1600, i would appreciate any help or information on the best way of doing this ie. What would i need to make the transplant etc. Has anybody done this before? Please help if you can it would be hugely appreciated! Thanks brad.

Never done it mate but think i remeber reading in retroford mag that you can put a rsturbo head on a 2.0 zetec bottem end. And i've seen a lot of rsturbo's with 2.0l lump. so maby engine mounts will line up all ready. but as i say not 100%sur on this so you might need to do some research. Hope this can be of some help. Nice to see some one doing some thing different with a mk6 escort. got any pic's?
kind regards sam

No mate your not thick. I don't truly understand it. It some sort of website that you upload pic's on to so you then can share with other people. If you want you can send me a pic via e-mail and i will upload one for you? I will send you a PM with my e-mail if you want me to do this.

No prob's mate. have you defo got your heart set on a rs turbo lump. cos a cheap way would be just drop a 2.0 zetec in different intake and exhaust and it should be up to abour 120bhp? and should just be 1 out 1in.

Yep i think a rst lump in a mk6 is cool as it's some thing different. if you can put a rst top on a 2.0 bottom you might a able to put one on a 1.6 bottom end so you wont have to change you lump just the head. do you no if there are any differences?

Yes its been done quite a lot by now. I used to have a mk5 with EFI RST engine.
You need a Mk5/6 CVH engine mount. You can use the existing gearbox if you want, or upgrade to RS2k MTX75. Go for the EFI FRST engine, its too much hassle to fit the escort RST stuff.
You will need to get OFAC/OFAB engine loom and ECU. I have the wiring diagrams and pinout for this conversion, but im sure once you see the complexity of the job youl change your mind anyway.
Don't bother going down the ZVH route with your current 1.6.
