Default ZT valve springs. Kent, Piper, Cat Cams?

Anyone used single valve springs with success from one of the above?
Looking to safely run up to 18 or 19psi through a gt25 on my 2.0L

Kents are £180ish and don't need different retainers, Piper are £205 with caps, or Devil Developments with caps at £250.
Trying to save a few bucks!

Kent will be fine at that boost but I'd spend the extra on the dd ones and fit and forget for future power upgrades

The last time i drove this car was 2 years ago at 115hp. I think i'll save the £100 and then complain about it when i need to change them again lol.
I still have cast rods so can't creep too far over 300bhp anyway

yup, st170's are nearly as good as some listed in first post as it happens.
i've used area six ones with alloy retainers with 2BAR boost and a gt3071r, dd ones seem to get the best press.

I really would fit the best ones you can now, as it saves all the messing if you ever wanna upgrade, if you gotta pull the head off you will have to buy various new parts.

Cheers for all the replies! I bought Kent cam springs in the end. I'm not too fussed about taking the head off again anyway. It took me 40 minutes the other day now that I know what needs to come off

And I can't believe this as true lol, you sure they are standard springs in there?! That's pretty incredible. I thought they start to float above 11psi...

Only thing uprated in my engine is the pistons and rods. Head is totally standard. All i done to it was new stem oil seals. Maybe in the future ill put some cams and springs etc in. Ill have to wait for it to go pop. I got the motor out of a 98 2.0 mondeo with 58k on clock

Good effort mate! I bought these purely for the peace of mind. I was using 106gti springs and retainers with 2mm shims but after all the hassle I've had with traching down the tappy head (which turned out to be the pistons hitting the head..) I just want to elimate any umming and arring for the next noise lol

What sort of power you running on standard cams? 2.0 cams I presume?

259.8bhp on hi boost and 212 on low. standard silvertop cams. boost is pretty high but I think its cos im using forged xe pistons and they sit pretty low in the block. goes really well. wossner pistons soon, up the compression slightly but bring the boost down and crack the 300 mark

Was a bit fiddly, and to be fair it probs didn't save me too much time, but saved another gasket and oil and coolant change!

do you have to pressurize the cylinder with that kit? or is it like on a cvh where the valve touches the piston??

There's an adapter to screw into the spark plug hole and pressurise it as its a universal kit, but on the zetec if the piston is at the top the valve can't drop in.
