Tbh that is what i expected,i am sure my old policy stated had to be garaged if within so many miles of home between 11ish and 6ish which i can understand.I hope i can get it sorted tomorrow as i plan on a few weekends away with my car and need to have it covered for theft.

its quite common thesedays that clause as most garages come under household cover or if rented on a seperate building they assume you will take out seperate ins on that structure, its a damn cheek really but I am not surprised its getting more common

Commonplace as said, but ive yet to see one where it implys garaging when away from home for trips or holidays or visits to friends etc.
The only problem i see with these is that the car is not covered if you need to pull it out garage to clean it or do some maintenance - which is a bit shitty - as its not "in the course of a journey".

Wow....who'd have ever thought an insurance company would write in small print to avoid cover !!
So that very open ended clause means if you leave the vehicle for a split second anywhere other than en-route....it has no cover.
Why even bother having a policy at all ?
Wonder what they class as a garage ? Does it have to be a certain size ? at a certain location ? What sort of doors/locks ? Are windows allowed ? What sort of alarm system is needed ? CCTV required ?
Dirty scumbag insurers as always.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Mine just states parked on driveway overnight as that's what I told them when I took out my policy, there's so much crap in the garage the car won't fit.

Does it state what hours they deem overnight ? How far up the driveway ? Does the driveway need gates ? must these be locked ?
or even...who's driveway ?
