....is this just internet shite or will this kit be bright white lights brighter than the standard yellowish lights? its for a 2010 insignia as per the pic in the add...

They will be bright light as they are hids I had some in my old car loads better and a lot more white I wouldn't go above 6000k as it goes a bit too blue the only problem with them is getting a decent beam pattern

If your headlamps are of the projector type then although being technically illegal are likely to work well and be a vast improvement over the normal bulbs but stick to a colour temp between 4300k and 6000k.
If you have reflector type headlamps then you absolutely should not even consider as you have very little control over the lamps output and will dazzle the crap out of everybody else on the road.
