“We will make a final decision on Thursday,” a McLaren spokeswoman said.
The team is now working flat-out to modify a chassis so that Alex Wurz can perform de la Rosa’s usual third driver role in Bahrain if required.
Wurz is too tall to fit in the present MP4-20 so de la Rosa has been conducting extra testing in his place.
If Montoya does have to sit out next weekend’s race it will be a blow to his championship aspirations.
He is currently equal third in the standings, eight points behind leader Fernando Alonso.

I think im more likely to be off from paint fumes than damaged bones, gun wash/paint rooms are fookin lethal Interviews on wed dude so fingers crossed
