Bought a red RS Turbo Mk4 3 years ago pretty much standard. chap i bought it off totally lied to me about it never been welded turns out the chassis legs have had patches done. In total disgust I didnt want to look at it till now. Funny thing is its not that bad, the deciept just left a bad taste in my mouth. I will start a resto thread

if its never been welded its 99% more likely to be riddled like a tea bag. id rather have one that has been welded already so the work needing done is less.

How many old fords have had welding. I cant understand how you bought the car 3 years ago and now your starting to do things to the car. I hope all goes well for you matey and it doesnt turn into another 3 years of waiting.

Thanks for your comments

Well I took the sunroof glass out over the weekend and was quite suprised that its not in too bad nick. even inside the roof panel is ok althought the sunroof glass could be better but that is a throw away part anyway

Its still sporting the original one piece exhaust and has some nct2 tyres all round so i guess its been stood for a while before the 3 years ive had it in the garage.

Gonna get some picks up later and start a resto thread. Need to start stripping the underneath first me thinks and get the shitty welding sorted out with some shiney new chassis legs
