Default Worse case off a inner cv joint failing ???

What do you guys think a worse case scenario would be off a inner cv joint failing at speed ? Ie locked up wheel, a fatality or merely loss off drive! I been discussing this with a mot tester and wondered what you thought!

As the angle is very minute it's very rare you get failure unless the cv leaks and it drys up and causes it seize up or get hot and fracture, most inner cvs on fwds are not fixed so therefor failure would be just loss of drive but on rwd cars there a fixed cv so it could result in jamming up under failure

Had a 407 in the other day with inner cv failure, just smashed the bearings and rings to pieces and left me some lovely grease everywhere!

Think on some cars depending on speed it would smash the box to bits banging around everywhere. (Assuming its the short shaft and breaks off completely)

On my 4x4 saph cos the offside front inner cv went and caused a whole load of mess. Trashed the alloy subframe and the shaft flew around, ripped the brake hose so I had no brakes and jammed the front of the car to a sudden stop. If I was on a motorway I reckon it would have totalled the car

My mate Niel had a ford Orion and the cv went the drive shaft dug into the ground and turned the car on its side! Don't no if it was inner or outer as it was a long time ago

I've had 1 go on my 2wd saph was completely sideways comin out out kilburn lane went over a dip in the road so tha car lifted and the weight come off the wheel as it come back down and the wheel gripped the cv joint literally exploded I thought it was the diff at first as lost all drive, then I stripped it down and bits of metal just fell out was in about 6 pieces, where I had an atb and not an lsd, the car just come to a stop... But wasn't at speed!
