4x4s using wider rear tyres.
On a focus cosworth. But I'm sure same for escort or sapph.
If someone wants to use 255/40/17 toyo R888 on the rears. What would the equivalent tyre/sidewall size be for 215/17
Also what width wheel would suite 255 and what's availble.
Thanks.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
There has been questions before about Sapphire Cosworth tyre sizes and I dont know if there is a difference with a 4wd as I have a 2wd, but I can say for certain that with 17inch wheels on a lowered car anything wider than 205/40/17 will be a clearance problem. I had a set of Toyo track day tyres 215/45/17s and even with my rolled arches they still hit the bodywork. I now have 205/40/17s and they clear ok.

Yes that what he runs on his cosworths
Question is regarding fitting 255 to a 4x4 focus. What the equivalent diameter is in a 215. As that wil fit under focus arch with 20mm spacers.
And what wheel width will take a 255. Guessing between a 8.5 and 10 inch.
