I don't thinks its a bad system compared to some from that era?

It doesn’t cut in far to easily like systems on other cars I've owned mainly vauxhall's system fitted on cavaliers/calibras.

Although even on those its definitely worth having for those emergency situations!

Personally I'd put it back on as its not like you're trying to convert a car to use it that didn't have it to start with?

I think it's a great system, really. Newest passenger car ABS systems I've tried are Fords too, from 99 Cougar to 03 Focus, and I'd take the old Teves any time.
Tried it once on a rainy track, and I could turn into the corner while braking almost as if it was dry. Only difference was the ABS judder on the pedal, no slipping on either end.

Was made in the time when the price of the system wasn't such an issue yet, and seems that 80's state of the art beats 90's bargain bin tech hands down.

Depends what you're going to use the car for, if it's mainly a road car and ABS is definitley worth having (as long as you can keep a Cossie one working )
But if it going to be a track car bin it off and go dual master cylinders, you have to press rather hard but the feel is so much better, you can really get on them hard without locking up.
Or you could use a standard sierra servo assisted setup which is kinda inbetween.

I've kept the ABS power servo, but binned the rest of it. The ABS system has a better feel than the normal vac assisted systems, so I got nice sharp brakes, and don't have to worry every year for the MOT, which BTW, it does pass
