engine oil in ps resivour, how bad is it?
Mate of mine has topped up his power steering on his x5 with engine oil by mistake rather than putting it in the engine oil filler
Is it nothing to worry about or is he in for a big bill?

It's not hydraulic oil so I doubt it'll do the rack any good over time.

as above drain, refill with correct fluid take it for a drive then drain and refill again the seals most likely will not like the engine oil long term
