I was thinkin that, but I'm gonna more or less need to go straight to the petrol station. So you can see the problem, and I don't fancy jumin it next to a pump, cause I can see me blowing myself up. Now while some people will tell you this is a good thing, I'm not really up for it

Yes you can ,altho I would recommend disarming your alarm (put it in valet mode or just normal disarm) before you connect the charger as a surge in power can damage the alarm.
Oh and dont put the bonnet down lol

Cheers Clare You must have a v.posh alarm, VALET MODE, ooh la la I see what you mean, I'll disarm it now before all the charge goes again, as I doubt anyone will be nickin it as it'll be flat again in half an hour
Cheers Mr Poom, sounds like I'll get away with it then

How flat is the battery? If it is slightly flat than just throw a trickle charger on it. If it is pretty dead then you will have to remove it cos it will never charge up.
Make sure you remove the caps if you can to let the flamable gasses out and before disconnecting the crockodile clips when it it charged, switch it off at the plug first. (removing the crock clips could cause a spark and if there is a lot of that flamable gas around then things could get interesting!!).

The festa doesnt have an alarm, if it did it'd only drain the battery along with everything else
Hope you get the car running soon

It'll be dead again by next friday, in the way that nothing works, not even the clock. But I know thw battery is good, it will hold a charge. The car has just been sitting for a long while. Maybe if I just give it a little charge to get it goin then I'll be usin it all weekend and that'll sort it out
Thanks Clare Like I said, couldn't resist takin it for a quick blast round the block, next Friday is the big day, and I'm sure I'll be venting my exitement on here before hand

well push it outta the area of the petrol station, to a side bit or whatever.
My mates battery went flat and we bump started it, he had to get fuel too so we drove literally 2 mins to teh station filled her up and it started no probs, so u mite get away with that small drive to charge it enough to re start it

If its pretty much totally dead then it will NOT start again at the petrol station if you only give it a short charge (trust me on this one ) leave the battery on charge for 12 hours if you can, at worst give it a good 4 hours without starting it.
If you dont want to wait that long get a mate to follow you to the petrol station with jump leads and as said above, just push your car away from the pump and jump it on the forecourt, if you do it quick enough you might escape a bollocking from the cashier
