Cool had lower arms powdercoated - pitted places still.

right had these powdercoated locally just to see what its like, they were quite rusty and pitted anyhow, they are still pitted in places, but the smooth places looks good, is the blast not meant to get rid of the pitted places? i know f**k all about blasting! wasnt a lot so im not overly bothered about the money. guess a lot of rubbing down would be needed! thanks guys

Look ok to me. The rust is metal that has been eaten away, so it's right that the surface would be uneven. Blasting would just remove the rust and leave the good metal behind.

You could go over them with a grinder and a sanding disc which would smooth them up a bit but seeing as you'd never see them when fitted and the powder coat will start chipping off in no time anyway, probably a waste of time lol.

Using a grinder will make the finosh quaity worse.

sand blast is better than shotblasting.

As im a powdercoater by trade, sand them smooth, ot failing that bead blast or sandblast is better as it not so hard on the material, and the finish is better.
But as RICHIEST stated: unless its a show car, it will get chipped away.
