Metalic noise as i turn off ignition ?

Default Metalic noise as i turn off ignition ?

Hi, my name is mike i am new to this forum and have one question about my 2004 Focus ST 170, Every time i turn OFF the ignition i hear a grinding/metalic noise like two cogs are running against each other,???? Any ideas ???. cheers

Put your foot on the clutch slightly (couple inches down) and see if you can feel the pedal move as you turn it off.

Could be a dual mass flywheel issue.

Or maybe the inlet manifold runner control gears in the control box on the bulkhead.

Needs checking out!

it is most probably your inlet manifold runner control unit, they have metal cogs inside which could sound like your issue.
