Question powdercoating - is it really this expensive?

i just got quoted £115 to powdercoat a pair of lower arms (wishbones) for my golf. is it usually around this price???

Sounds a bit much that pal, I was quoted last week £50 to blast and coat my big wind up car ramps red.

and £70 for my sump, really not sure on prices as i have not had powdercoating done before!

Just had a rocker cover, inlet manifold and large boost pipe powdercoated by a place in coventry and it cost £50, all powdercoated in metallics

Mines all free as my brother is a powder coater!!

cossie 2wd front crossmember,
inlet manifold
strut brace,
alloy power steering tank,
alloy breather tank,
throttle cable bracket
inlet manifold
all blasted/dipped and coated in satin black, and cam cover blasted but not coated, for £110 2 weeks ago,
So yes they saw you coming

I got a subframe , lower arms and front panel. Two calipers and a couple of springs for 100£.

I got all these bits done for my escos for £150, proper job as well

rear beam
rear arms
both ARB's
gearbox cradle
engine cradle
ARB clamps
front bumper grill
power steering tank bracket
alternator/tensioner bracket

plus a couple of other bits & bobs

I paid about 280 for everything 4 engine tanks, rear beam and arms, gearbox mount, rear calipers, strut braces, inlet and loads of brackets and I thought it was expensive at the time but appears not

I would have said about £20-£25 per item is about right, but price can depend on whether they are putting other stuff through the same colour at the same time or not. That's the sort of price I pay for stuff. I'd try somewhere else mate.

I had a set if alloys blasted and coated for 160 quid! Only 80 of that was coating too

Absolutely, I've seen some right poor coatings the past few years, purely because people want cheap everything these days.
