Default Welcome to cossie ownership Arghhhhh !

Well I knew the car needed work as it was noisey top end but never thought it would need this much.
Since buying the car I've found a brass restrictor hose cliped in the pipe (not screwed in the amal valve) from the amal valve too the turbo which had turned round as it was so thin and blocked the pipe nice
Then I find nylocks on the new turbo that had been fitted.
Changed all the followers oil change etc still a top end noise so I bite the bullet and remove the supposedly staged head.
Ah I see no staged head ( at least it had the Group N gasket I guess)
Pistons are moving about side to side like nobodies business so needs a bore and new oversized pistons.
Oh and the head well that needs all new guides as the valves are movin about too.
Can't wait to see what the cranks like
Hows your day been

Stu its a 4x4 so I guess its running L8
once I've rebuilt it I want to remove the current stage 3 chip/Map and get you to re do it for me.
Am I right in thinking you can do closed loop on this ?

Cheers
Jay

Think I might see if any tuning companies have a block pre built as I want to get it back on the road ASAP guessing for 350 BHP with T34 I won't need a staged head or any trick bits.

Have a look in forsale mate been some bottom ends already for sale!!!!!! Know spadge had one.

anything upto 400bhp ish standard heads are fine so i've been told and u dont actually have to run low comp to get it so a standard bottom end is ok

Yea they can do closed loop as its already got an L8 But will leave stu to fill u in

Well I just added up the cost of parts and a guesstimate of the engineering costs and it comes out at £2500 approx oh poo
lets hope the block and crank are useable if the block is too worn thats gonna go up, what fun
