Default Ford parts depo help!!!!!!

Hi all, I went to ford parts depo today to see if they have any rear trailing arm bushes in for a 4x4 saph cos, as I need all 4 while he was in the system having a look he said that they are no longer avalible however he did say they are available for the sapphire none cosworth......

So 1st & most important are these the same???????? As he was clueless

2nd as the cossie 1s are stupid money from them even though they not got them!! The sapphire 1s are very cheap indeed, so I'm sure someone could shed some light??????
Cheers Lee

The bushes in the Cosworth arms are unique to the Cosworth.

the non cosworth ones are plain rubber whereas the cosworth ones have a rose joint inside i believe.
Its not people just marking up the price for a cosworth, i think they're quite dear to manufacture

Like the majority of normal Ford parts depts are going to be experts on cars that haven't been made for 30 yrs..

You don't need to be a expert to find part son a catalogue with pictures,,,, oh and sit the OTHER side of the counter and watch the DIY experts pop in with there Haynes manual or forum print out telling you
"You must be able to get it seperate as I managed to take it off"

I'm so glad I only deal with garages now,,, can't stand people who tell you your wrong but then have to ask you " what does this thing do,, do I need it for a MOT"

How much more help can a company be with a part that is no longer made

It's like going into mcdonalds and asking for a whopper meal,,,, ford no longer make it as cossies ain't used daily anymore so to the company that size is not worth making he parts,,, you can still buy a fuel filter for a cossie ect as the sel a lot if them still

If ford ain't had a request for a part over a year to be replenished they no longer request it made and sell the stock till it depletes

Best one I've seen lately is our parts guy sitting there with Google translate open to try and help some Latvians get some brake pipes for a van.

What is the world coming to?

Had that recently with a foreign bloke, he wanted a waste gate actuator for a Focus 2.0 TDCI, not available seperate, comes with a turbo.

He had the actuator in his hand, "it must be available seperate"...!!
