been like it a while now since i changed the heater matrix on the golf mk3 vr6, ive tried the method of leaving it running with the header tank cap off squeezing all the water pipes but the heaters dont blow really warm air, its coldish still!! pipes to the matrix is one is hot and the other is warm, is there any other way of bleeding it out fully?

Ok this is really mad, but it does work and Sykes Pickavant have a kit to do it! you need to take the air out if the system before filling it up! no air to start with = no air locks!
I suppose you could improvise if if you have a air pump a valve and a spare coolant cap!
search for: Engine Cooling System Vacuum Purge Refill Tool
I hope this helps!
