Default Ecu question

Hope someone can clear this up for me please, I carried out a 2.0 conversion to my mk3 cab, currently it has a 2fcd ecu, is this ok to use as I have been offered a deep ecu, would swapping make much difference? If so it it straight swap or do I need to change any wires? Thanks

iirc the 2 litre silvertop Zetec conversion requires a DEEP, DESK or DEWY ECU.

As Oronaco said you will need the 2 litre ecu unless you find the RS1800 ecu.

Isnt the 2fcd the xr2i ecu? Might be worth an ask to a tuner to see if the ECU can be adjusted to meet the 2 litre requirements

I beleive it is mate, so in your opinion the deep would run it much better? Is it a straight swap over from 2fcd to deep or are pinouts the same do you know?

If I remember rightly the 2fcd was run on the XR2i CVH engine not zetec I think the CVH ran 95 or 98 bhp so you running the the 1.6 ecu on the 2litre engine yes it will run but the ecu wont fuel the car correctly it will most proberly run lean.Even if you did get the 2 litre ecu, desk deep or dewy you would need the maf to fuel it properly.I do believe the maf from the desk will work on the dewy and deep and vise versa. As for the looms you can do pin outs its been done on the Fiesta si loom and a few other models.
