ib5 Diesel gearbox B.C bearing fitted
Hi all....
had this problem just like many of you out there have...
The ib5 swap
Now there are many of threads out there talkin about what will and wont work on BC and ib5 now
This is a photo of the ib5 box with the large bearing sleve removed and the output neck machined so the BC bearing fits.

hear is what it looks like from a sliced view and what i did.

After this i made a shim for the bottom of the clutch arm it sat in snug just a small bit of tube about 7mm or so.

The arm is from i think an xr3i bc gearbox as the bolt on fork type had a shorter bar and didnt reach the bottom bush so i used the welded type with a clamp on arm as it was much longer.
Make sure the bush is the right hight so the bearing dose not snag
There are some older bc boxes with larger plastic bushes at the top as i have 2 types one from an s2rst (tooo small) but the one that came with the welded shaft type arm fitted snug the one i will be using.
if u cant locate a bush they are only made of nylon why not make one or have one made
my ib5 is from a 1995 1.8 diesel escort
my release bearing (new) is from a normal bc gearbox so no clutch issues
Running setup atm is 2.0 zetec, R1 carbs, Ex 4,2,1, megajolt, RST flywheel, uprated clutch, ib5.. D.gearbox...

I was thinking too much work for what its worth aswel
but to be fair it didnt take 30 seconds to remove 1mm of alloy and make a spacer for the chaft
The only reason i went for this option is because the ib5 bearing was harder to engage and the box came with no clutch arm :/
