Default Speeding Fine

Driver at our place was caught speeding in his car, 83mph in a 70 zone.

Total cost £205 plus 3 points, I don't know if its because he drives for a living but does seem quite steep. They also said if it had been 86mph then it would of been 6 points

Just be careful boys

That's why the fine was astronomical, a copper once told me never go not guilty or try and argue the toss with a motoring offence, you'll end up worse off

Up to 90 (may be 95) is simple FPN ticket for 70mph limit offences. Court can impose between 3 and 6 as soon as it gets to them irrespective of it being 75 or 99mph.

Agreed. You, as the driver are scum. The police are angels and can do no wrong. Seen a few people get stiffed good and proper trying to rightfully defend a case. Chap on here got screwed accused of a phone offence, despite letters from phone provider etc etc sayinging phone was not in use he was still found guilty of it.

The law is a fucking arse, unless you are a prommer scummy cunt then it seems you get away with next to no punishment at all.

Why did he appeal?

As has been said before unless there is some sort of divine intervention or you are

a) a copper
b) rich
or c) famous

it was never going to be overturned!

I just got done with a mobile speed camera in a works hire car, 40 in a 30, sent back as guilty, I can either pay £75.00 and sit the cause or £100.00 and 3 points. Seems odd!

They are £100 now mate, changed a few months back. The course is the cheaper option. No doubt this will change soon.
