Had a turbo2000 with a prodrive breaks and a td05 conversion. Found it very arse endy actually. But it had adjustable arms so can only assume it had been set up like that.
Bottom end blew as above

I have a widetrack import sti and find it superb, very reliable and great fun to drive, they are superb for the money and most engine problems are bought on by poor maintenance or mapping.

I had a wr1 and didnt like it, it understeered lots into bends and as soon as you went near the power it got sideways, totally not what i expected it to be like and ive heard many others with similar stories. Ive heard the jdm imprezas handle much better but not tried one myself

I have a p1 and I think it's awesome!!! I shouldn't like the jap shite but I bought a 95 wrx a few months back that had been fettled with and fell in love!! The p1 came along shortly afterwards and I don't regret it! Not sure how well they compare to an evo 6 which I also like?

Classic shape drive great.
Get one that's relatively standard as they are exceptionally reliable that way.
A lot of issues are down to chavs running them on upped boost, shitty mods and 95 Ron without getting them mapped correctly.
I always ran mine on shell optimax with no engine issues at all.

I had a Impreza Type R... awesome car, and a good one can only go up in value...
Take box out and send it Tegsport... I had my UK turbo box rebuilt by them with good 2nd hand parts for cheap money...
Was like brand new...
Whats up with yours?

If it was me I'd be a bit different and look for an Evo 1. Good ones come up for 3 grand. Have one set up with a nice reliable 250bhp and they are cracking fun! Light, 4wd and no fancy diff gizmos etc. I used to work as a Ralliart tech and drove most of the evo range, still rate a good Evo 1 as one of the best! Especially for the money

Had my uk turbo nearly 4 years, used it as a daily driver from doing 20miles at least a day going into town for work, to only using it a few times a week. Never gives me any major hassle, I'd be happy to drive a long journey in it or nip about town. Still puts a smile on my face now.
Kept it standard, serviced annually and petrol is whatever is most convenient.
One set of Bridgestones and one set of pads and discs that I replaced with decent ones.
Started running hesitantly when pulling off and in the wet sometimes, changed leads, problem solved.
Only had a new lambda sensor and fuel filler pipe and that's it. Oh, think I had a Ł30 bush or ball joint or something else like that for an mot one year.
