Default Rolling road tune up prices?

Just wanted an idea of what people are charging for a set up on the rolling road? I'm going to give a place called mechrepairs a go and for the rolling road along with fuel and timing adjustment they charge £75 + vat an hour and they said a 2 hour job, extra time if I want the boost adjusted. Fair price or not?

Ive just had my series 2 set up on Saturday at Evotune in Durham. Charged me 150 for a Dawes Device supplied and fitted, boost increase, fuelling and timing adjusted, + three printouts of power/AFR/torque etc.
Was in for about 2.5 hours, and was very happy with service and results.

These dynos take a lot space along with buying the overheads are quite high so I don't think that's exspensive at all

Things always seem to be that bit cheaper the more north you go

I thought it was about right I did phone another one by me and they want £120 + vat per hour and said it would take about 2-2.5 hours inc boost adjust.

Not been to mech repairs in years, but they always used to be good.

Price sounds ok, but check all of the obvious stuff is ok before you go.

IIRC Stu did a post about what to do before a RR session.

Stuff like new plugs, no obvious misfires, decent fuel, road legal tyres & road tax if you expect them to road test it, check tyre pressures...

doesn't sound outrageously expensive but as above do all the obvious basic checks - coolant, oil, new plugs, tyres etc so you're not wasting time you have the benefit of paying for.

Its more costly when your engine goes bang or melts because its not been set up on
a dyno ...... Bear in mind the dyno,s only as good as the operator and its not all about the power " Safe power " .

very valid point as so many people get incorrect generous printouts and when they go to top boys like MSD they are crying into their printouts thinking wheres all their power gone

I operated a Run Ram 12 for 9 years ..... I use to do all the product testing IE exhaust and air filters for Revs magazine in its day .....

Then all people wanted to see was 150 hp from a 1.3 Nova and that just with a exhaust and air filter , people just dont realise how much 1 hp cost if done right !
