Default cd changer cable

Hi, 2004 1.6 focus Zetec climate. Can anyone tell me please if this model has a cd changer connection fitted as standard but not connected?
Reason is my 6 cd head unit (6006e) is playing up (radio comes and goes) and will put orig 6000 unit in and get a cd changer unit to put in.
Thanks again
Barrie

What sort of plug is in the back?
Quad lock is easier than the ribbon cable variety

Hi the cable socket in the radio is green and separate to the other 3 cable plugs.
in the lower corner. From memory it is square shape with 12 pins? The cd/radio is single play cd with no AUX tab.
Does that explain it?

Hi 1-PD,
Yes you are correct. My 6006 head has gone t*ts up with the radio.
I have the old 6000 with changer facility in but want to know if I may have a cable fitted. If not will have to get a changer and cable or a replacement 6006e.
Cannot find a cable under passenger seat though.

the cable from a escortmk6 /mondeo mk1/2 are the same fitting as are the changers, most of the cars from that era, you wont have the cable fitted if your car came with a 6006 as there was no need

Car came to me with 6000. I put in 6006 but now the radio keeps losing signal. I know its the radio and not broadcasting station as it happens on different channels.

Me again. 1-PD you have given me food for thought! Maybe be better going for this instead of repairing 6006e unit.
