Question Mondeo/Focus blacktop difference

Hello AGAIN!

Right, I'm starting to shit it a little bit now because i've bought a 2.0 '99 or '00 reg mondeo blacktop engine and have had work done to it in preperation for it to go into my focus mk1.
I know the gearbox will mount up but i'm thinking about all the other bits and pieces that bolt up to the block like power steering, a/c pumps, alternators etc. Will the mounting holes be the same on the block itself??

I've got a FRS crankcase if this has any bearing on anything?

Same engine last time I checked, iirc the only revisions was in the sump and oil pick pipe, mondeo back tops had a metal oil pick up with a diffrent shape sump (only a little different) and the focus had a plastic oil pick up but later changed back to a metal oil pick with no steading arm on it.

Thanks for the reply. And you're bang on abo it the oil pipe thing. I put on my sump earlier and it didn't fit. Luckily still had the focus one.
I don't know if you could help me out here, but I bought a yrs upper sump and noticed there is an additional threaded through-hole on the oil filter side. Not on my old sump... Can't quite work out what it's for??

Turbo oil return.

Both engines are interchangeable, i replaced a knackered Focus 2.0 litre engine with a Mondeo one a few years ago

Good to hear! Was beginning to become my daily worry!
Butbi don't think it's an oil return. The oil return is on the front of it already.

Haha, I nearly did that too mate. I'm not changing it now anyway as I've put the sump on and the shut load of sealant it requires. Not worth the effort of scraping it all off again lol.
