Right then, due to the rise in nob ends stealing cars and Cosworths etc
what ideas would you suggest for Sierras and older stuff?
obviously a Tracker will be top priority when its complete again untill then......
i was going to cut the tow eye off my Rouse and make a bolt on one for when it breaks down (not if lol)
get a snap-off boss
always remove the ECU (every time im not driving it, always done it on my saffs)
What other things will slow them down in a car park or similar?
i know if its gonna go it will go and get uplifted but for the opportunists, any help is good.
locking the brakes "on" was another idea
any other ideas?

no matter what you do sadly if someone really wants it they will take it - the more security you put on the more chance there is of a cunt waking you up with a knife or gun in your mush as they need the keys.

Cossie's are rare now so when one gets nicked its on every forum and it gets noticed . I would imagine 100's of cars get nicked everyday . from Cossie's ,Evo's Bmw's .
Chaining it to posts etc seems silly to me, as if they want it that makes you the target .

locked alarmed garage, cctv on driveway, car locked in garage, with steering lock, 2 other cars in front of driveway, 3 wheelie bins to move and security lights on the drive.
Edit to add, I won't leave the car anywhere random, if I need to leave a car anywhere I just use my focus estate.

Visual and physical deterrents are always best from a prevention point of view
Alarms dont do shit. As even if one does go off, everyone just ignores it anyway. And usually damage is done by that stage.
Tracker etc can be useful, as can an alarm with SMS to alert you the vehicle is being tampered with
After those, simple immobilisation options, like hidden kill switches are always good and cost very little.

IF you have left it in a supermarket or pub car park and taken off the steering wheel and ecu then there's no chance of it being stolen unless it's lifted but how likely is that in a car park. How about motorbike chain lock through the wheel and round rear axle, awkward ad fuck to get off

Is keeping a venomous snake allowed? Air bag goes off if some one in drivers seat and alarm active? HT leads wired to car searing? mercaptan released from container so you and every one else can smell your car?
seriously make sure your security is layered. but a good one is to remember to take something from the car that that will stop it running!

stopped my car getting nicked in nottingham about 10 years ago by putting a simply switch under the seat that interrupted the fuel pump, almost the same thing as the fuel pump kill switch as it was in the wiring for that
they were pushing the thing down the road after breaking the steering lock and window and pulling the indicators out and fucking the door locks on my 3 door but they couldn't start it as i put that little switch in the way
bit of faffing about under the seats to reconnect it again but well worth it when all else fails
got a battery kill switch on the mondeo too which lives under the bonnet, so it's keys to open the bonnet then key to turn the battery on
after which there's the factory ford alarm AND the cat 1 alarm to deal with, both of which immobilize different circuits on the car depending on how you open it
plus it lives behind a security post and metal gates so it's a right pita to get out of on any normal day, hence me not using it as much

Fit a nitrogen bottle in the boot hose it up to the interior with an electronic valve wired to open when your alarm goes off, they will have to drive the car as high as a kite or lift it, I don't think you will stop them lifting it unless you have airbag suspension that drops the car to the floor so it's arches are near enough sitting in the tyres and turn full lock to one side to make it a bitch for them if they are winching it into a flatbed but as said above if they really want it they will come prepared

Theres only one thing you need to do!
Take the bolt out from inbertween the steering rack and comlum will stop the car beening driven or towed away and thay wont have a god dam clue whats wrong. Unlike removing the ecu ect as people who steal these come with spare parts and know the normal things like ecu battery ht leads ect....
First thing i lernt in college was how to steal old fords lol so trust me i know every trick in the book.
