We sold it on behalf of the Met Police - they seized it in central London a few weeks back - google it, there was lots of coverage of the story at the time as it was taken during one of their current campaigns against uninsured and non-licensed drivers ! They only actually stopped the guy at first because he didn't have a front number plate and then it transpired that he had no insurance either, so simples, they take the car !!

There must be more to it tho' or more that they're letting on, because the owner didn't claim it for whatever reason, so he gets a certain number of days to do so, and if not, we collect it and sell it !

I thought it was the MET police one before i scrolled down. Why someone would get it seized for no insurance and then not claim it back? must be multi millionaire?

Driver was not the owner
Car was insured but not for him

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/437...it-for-218-000

Owner may be "otherwise detained" or heading that way and car was going to be seized anyway.

I find it difficult to image a time when that shape of lambo will look 'old'.

Aventador - no other supercar turns me on like one of these! When I went to Goodwood Supercar Sunday it made everything else (and there was some tidy stuff there!) look and sound like a half arsed effort!

got to be crime related.

Even the rich cunt arabs wouldnt abandon that. The rich foriegn arabs who are of that age where they play around in supercars are usually only rich off daddys money and acting like playboys until they are married off and have to comply with a strict islamic lifestyle. Thier dad wouldnt tolerate in most cases such blatent waste by pissing away £300k.

sounds like something very naughty has been happening, not claiming a car like that is very odd.
even paying a daft amount of money to get through court and pay a fine would be better than losing that motor.

Pretty much spot on matey. We go down to the Met compounds about once a fortnight and advise them what is worth sending up for auction and what isn't. They're moving away from crushing stuff as I think they're under pressure to maximise funds from seized vehicles rather than just getting scrap value - unless of course if the car is likely to be pursued by 'Mr X' when he gets out of prison etc or a particularly dodgy case or something, then it still gets cubed !

Not good to hear that matey We normally pick up on that sort of thing as soon as the car is processed through our system - unless it was a HPi issue or something - or if the car arrived one day and got sold the next, it may have just been a time thing if you know what I mean ! Hope you got it sored though !

Am in work tomorrow - have 1000 cars to get through for Lex Autolease (well actually, 750 cars, 230 vans, 6 motorhomes, 15 taxi's, 15 motorbikes, a mobile library and a ride-on lawn mower !!)
