Is it complicated to fit tddi engine into tdci mondeo

loads of 06 07 mondeos with wrecked engines and pumps for cheap money, I like the tddi engine in the early mk3 as its bullet proof and cheap, is there any problems to fit it instead of the troublesome tdci

They are the same engine, just a different fuel injection setup. Shouldn't be too hard I wouldn't have thought, on my tddi I had most the inlet and fuel system off and back on in a couple of hours, they are easy to work on. Don't forget the tddi has a lift pump so fuel lines are probably different.

Never done it, but I guess you'd need the complete engine bay loom from the TDDI for a start, ideally need a complete DI car for a donor, as RichieST says, the DI has a lift pump near the tank so lines will be different etc.
