Default STRANGE missfire - anyviews...

Misses under load @ 2200 and 2800...

Just changed the chip for a full boost item, so thought this might be it as i aint drove it since october.

Changed chip back same.

Checked and cleaned plugs, they appeared to be ok but its hard to say if they are working without changing.

Changed the leads, Got rid of the motorsport blue leads for the Standard ones. - This instantly changed the engine note and made the drive a little more sharp, I only got it to miss once and it has not happened again yet..

Its weird because after 3k till 7600 is doesn't miss a beat....

Pectel aint reporting any errors either....

Things to check / clean:

CPS
Dizzy cap / rotar arm
Leads (including clearance from any metal objects - need at LEAST a 1" air gap around them to stop them arcing out on anything metal).
Plugs (replace for brand new items - cleaning may have damaged them).

I presume also that you've kept the coil lead well away from the map sensor?

Yeah done all that, cleaning the plugs aint made it worse.

Changing the leads made it better tho

Gonna test the phase/cap and CTS next

Cheers

Funny u should say that, after a hard drive in mine the other day ive had a similar problem. Slight hesitation/miss at between 2500-3k but is fine at idle and seems fine on boost!!! Took the leads off to find 1 corroded and the connection in dizzy cap corroded so replaced with spares ,seems the same but not driven it properly Plugs have been cleaned and seem ok too!!!!

Did notice the other nite with brad that the rear coolant sensor plug was cracked so need to replace that asap really cos it wouldnt run and couldnt work out why at first

dingy,
NGK9's in my experience are NOT worth bothering with.
TOO expensive and too hard on the ignition system (More prone to misfires !!).

That plug gap seems a bit TOO big - could be part/all off your problem.
