Default Coilover question...

If I wanted to heighten my car, do I just raise the collar to lift the spring the same amount as I want car to be lifted by?

Does that make sense? Sorry I'm new to coilovers.

Cheers, pete

yes you make sense but no it wont be an equal amount. trial and error will get you where you want but im sure someone will offer a mathmatical equation

Oh right, but if its sitting equal at the mo, and I mark the collar and say raise it up two turns on each strut that'll be ok wont it, ie a cm say on each strut will raise the car a cm.

i kinda do it that way but depending on your suspention type the ratio of lift per turn can be different from front to rear. but you wont be far out to be honest on a small change.

It's a pain to adjust,,, get a suspension place to do it to avoid tyre wear and handing issues,,, ok it starts from75 quid and can cost 250 but it really is something you notice getting it back and all tracking is done too
