Default Another gear linkage thread

Getting my 3i back next week and after reading all the threads i understand that upgrading to a puma linkage is much better

Does anyone have any tips, is it easy to do?

Is it defiantly worth doing?

Any help would be appreciated

easy job , av done this upgrade on my s1 , took bout 2hrs start 2 finish , u will need 2 drill 2 holes 2 mount the rubber holder of the puma linkage on the shell, and trim the width down also 2 fit in the shell's tunnel , apart from that it was a doddle ....gear selection is now similar 2 a quick shift as the throw is a lot less than standard linkage ....

Do you loose neutral??

What gear do you select when you swap the linkages reverse or 4th?

If you set it right you shouldn't loose any gears?

as a further upgrade you can replace the rubber bushes on the lever and rods with solid bearings , this will remove any movement but you will get a bit of vibration through the lever

any bearing specialist will have something that will fit
