Hi all I have just bought a 2 wheel drive cosworth YB 2L transit and it is hunting more so when warm and stalls sometimes
also she is very low on boost was running around 320bhp before
I have removed and cleaned the idle control valve but no change and I cant see any leaks in vacume pipes not sure what else to try drove cosworths around 15 years ago so a bit rusty on them it feels like the waste gate isn't doing anything
any help would be appreciated
Thanks Jim

Firstly welcome to the forum ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
A few things to try
1. Have you got a boost gauge? Try checking the vacuum pipe on the gauge end and not inlet.
2. Don't just wipe the idle valve, soak it in carb cleaner overnight (12hrs+) You'll be amazed how much grit/rubbish can be in there.
3. When warm unplug the idle valve, if it's still low you can adjust the idle using the screw underneath where the inlet meets the boost hose.
try them and report back

Thanks for quick reply Jay and Smit
Right I will take off valve and soak over night as need van today but valve is clean as looks like new
If I unplug idle valve van stalls if I block off boost gauge vacuum pipe at manifold no change
If I remove oil filler cap when running no change ?
If the idle was my only problem then I would adjust but I think it's connected to the low boost issue only reaching 5 psi max but can't feel turbo kick in how can I tell if the actuator is functioning and what's the best way to find leak in vacuum ??
Thanks Jim

Hi guys I found a perished pipe on vacume system and replaced boost back up to 15psi and then reset the idle as you said at idle adjuster still dips a bit when I pull up but doesn't stall and goes like fu*k for a van big big smiles on everyone's face that goes in it
Thanks again Guys
