crazy results the evo has now been topped in both events by an r35 gtr
and from how it read on gtr forum theres more in it yet with some more practice![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)

I think actually an evo may have beaten that time at some point im not sure, but for it to do 30 - 130 in 4.6 seconds then onto 239 mph on the same gearing is mind blowing imo.

Even more so with their gearboxes.
Of course, Andy Forest is to run today. He'll destroy the 30-130, no idea how much interest he has in aiming for a top speed.
But at TOTB he ran 210.6mph over 1km on bog standard road tyres ( used to get the gearing up ) and John's GTR ran 211mph over the same distance.
Andy sacrificed over 20mph at the 1/4 using those tyres though, so also sacrificed a lot of top end at 1km, although he did say it would only be geared for around 230mph with the bigger tyres.

I'm looking forward to see what Andy's car does 30-130.
After reading his write up the other day, I doubt he'd want to get anywhere near 230mph even if it was technically possible.

That said, his car is very light and accelerating like crazy even at those speeds. So it would be a handful and probably a little dangerous.
Would be great to do it though.

Hard to say. At TOTB his best was 8.33 at 178mph lol
So 30-130 really cant have taken that long.
But the GTR is no slouch whatsoever. Andy's does have the potential to go faster, but hard to say just how much faster.

That is ridiculously fast (by quite a few of the cars), seriously impressive times.

Just got back, it is a seriously quick car. The top 3 today were all pretty much full on purpose built for this sort of thing. That is undoubtedly the fastest way to do this sort of thing but we are getting into that debate of why not just bring a drag racer/funny car etc etc.

Whilst Andy's car may be pushing the road legality bit to the limit. It is still a 4 door saloon. It will still destroy most other vehicles in a straight line, around a race track...pretty much anywhere really.
A funny car or drag car will not do that...ever
So whilst it would add a bit of weight and slow it down a little, the Subaru could be returned into a 4 door 4 seater saloon without too much difficulty.
But for a 4 door saloon...I cant actually think of anything, anywhere that is faster. And even if one does exist in a straight line, it would never go around a race track as fast as Andy's
As for John's GTR. Far less weight to remove, and IMO it's the only thing that really hinders the car, the fact it does still carry a lot of bulk.
Which makes it's performances even more impressive.
It is pushing the limits of road car much less. Maybe because it only had 2 seats to start with, and 2 doors though.
But again, a funny car or drag car ( ie Sleeper Sy's Sierra is a dedicated drag car, and was it anywhere near the top cars ? )
Will it go around corners ? Will it be functional for multiple uses ?
