Default Recommendation for custom engine mounts

Evening! Anybody able to recommend somebody that could design and construct some custom engine mounts to fit a different manufacturers engine in an Escort?

Eg. If I was to supply an engine and box eg. VAG 1.8 20v turbo, give them my mk6 Escort and they mount the engine and box for me, then I do the rest.

I know it's random, but it's something I've been tempted by, as I can get hold of a 225bhp engine from an Audi TT for next to nothing, and they can very easily hit 300bhp with very little work.

Well, it's going to be 3 mounts really. I'll have to ask crazycage. That ain't sacrilege at all, it's a good engine that can be had for peanuts. Damn site cheaper than a Zetec turbo

I put a 20v turbo in a mk1 golf and there was quite a bit of fabrication done but now my mate at vwcaddyforum.com sells the mounts as almost bolt in....you could buy the mounts cheaply and adapt to suit your car. He can have the ecu unlocked etc for you to....speak to Al or Mel in the caddy shop and mention my name (Toby or Cadyshack) and they will look after you. Cheap engine, cheap to tune too if not the most exciting engine to rev etc. hope this helps

Yeah I agree mate, I put an AGU lump in a mk2 golf with a QPeng loom, i loved it.

I just fancy doing this to the Escort early next year, and just asking about.

Al on vwcaddyforum is doing the same in a Mk2 escort. He is close enough to you that he could do as much of yours as you want doing. He has recently started a new business called retro fiction do do these sorts of jobs and has a well equipped workshop and has brilliant fabrication skills and seems to know his onions on most car subjects and is well connected for ecu work etc.

The qpeng stuff is quality too, the mk2 swap is very simple on the mount side of things, mk1 is much harder but sorted now the market is full with people doing them. Al did mine the hard way and grafted in the mk4 golf mounts in to the mk1 chassis legs.

Sounds good that does! Yeah the mk2 was straightforward, loved doing it. That QPeng loom was simply lovely, it started first go!

I will try and find this guy as sounds really useful. Really appreciate your input fella!
