Default help needed with dash 2

Hi all has anyone got any information on where to get a 5v squad wave Signal out of a l6 so I can get the rev counter working on a dash 2

The Dash 2 uses a 12V square wave input for the rev counter.

I don't see why you can't get this off the coil.

States in the fitting instructions that it cannot be fed off the coil
