Default 2006 bmw e92 330i what they like??

hi ive been looking round for a nice e46 330 but have seen a lovely e92 330i se in my price range, car has high miles 133 k but looks in very good condition and has full bmw history, i know people will say the diesels are better but there out of my price range and only doing 7-8 k miles a year the petrol should be fine, but what should i look for? will this have the early or later engine being a 56 plate ect cheers

well i can't comment exactly, but i have an e46 330 and it's a bit slow to be honest and fuel economy is a little embarrassing to be fair.
i can't imaging the e92 being any better on juice or much better on performance.
the diesels are much better though, i have been looking for one for a while, but never seem to be able to keep the cash in the account long enough to buy one, fuel cost in the e46 330 is hurting a little
i can only image it will be a beautiful sounding engine as mine is and fuel not much worse, but i average 22mpg and do get plenty of fun out of it. to say it's slow is a little off the truth, but it's not a fast car till you're over 100mph and seems to be just into its comfort zone.
maybe try the 328 or even a 325, might save you some running costs.

as for e92's, lovely cars, well built and no major issues for a heavy car.

The diesels are torquey but still drink

My 530d only does 25mpg round town, but I thought that was cos its a 5 an a heavy auto, after speaking to a guy at work seems its all the 3 litre diesels as his 2006 e90 330d auto only gets 25 around town

I get 38mpg in my 330d e46 (manual) if I am in a hurry..... 45mpg plus if I take things steady.

round town is mid 30's unless I am very gentle then I get a little more!
