Could do but is it worth it? I have jus bought a new set of wheels last week so glad it wasn't on those but a proper inconvenience when on the way out on a Saturday night!

Hi I'm sure the pot holes have to be 3" deep to claim, and you have to take a photo with a ruler in the pic to prove it. It's a lot of messing around and it takes ages to sort out. How many others have fell victim to this wheel eating pot hole I wonder?!

No chance of that it was on just coming out of a tunnel on the A406... I don't want to risk death for the sake of a picture

True about others as its an extremely busy road!

I didn't think it would be a good idea with the pics.

It goes to show how the councils get away with it tho! Like you say who's gonna risk death to claim. Maybe you should just report it to them anyway to get it filled in

Whereabouts on the A406 mate?

I've claimed off the council before, long and arduous but if you know the legislation and don't let them fob you off you can get some money back.

Gutted! that's what mine will look like if they don't sort these sheffield roads out! Mind you, it doesn't help having tyres that are painted on lol

Call the council
Ask to be out through to their insurance department
Then explain what you are claiming for
Then ask them how they propose you take s picture if the pothole in amongst all that traffic

They will point you in the direction of the person responsible for that section if road
Email them with your damage
They will ask for 2 independent garage inspections
Make sure you keep receipts for everything and note down who you called, when, who you spoke to, lengths of calls etc

In my case skanska were held accountable and paid me around £470 of my £530 bill for front suspension struts as I'd popped one of the gas pockets in one
I offered to pay for the other sides strut but not its fitting as I successfully argued that if the pot hole hasn't damaged one I wouldn't need to be replacing suspension in axle pairs like you are supposed to

Stuck to your guns but also make your points in a professional manner so that you can say you've done everything in your power

In my case I was unable to wait the 3 weeks it would have taken and got the work done after two when they promised that they would cover the cost of the work

Don't be scared, but do ask for their insurance department first and then tell their insurance department why you are calling otherwise its a wild goose chase
