Default Brake help needed - it's buggered!!

Car went down local garage today to get the brake system bled with new stuff

Now, I've got it back and its 100 times worse

Brake pedal nearly goes to floor and no bits at all

Need exact procedure how to bleed AP-4 pot calipers with a rear disc conversion

Please help and there's got to be something they haven't done or something has broke

Also, the servo tilts forward at the top when brake pedal is pressed, moves about 1/2 inch!!

are the calipers at the top a la 4x4 cossie???? if so you need to bleed them upright, so you'd need to undo the calipers and sort of support them on the disc (so the bleed nipple is uppermost) - then bleed it in that position!!

if the servo is moving on its mountings that would increase pedal travel!!

Right, I thought that you had the fours on the back!!! However, It still applies. The rear caliper is at the top and the bleed nipple is facing forwards(or backwards) and is not at the top so the air can sit higher than the nipple, therefore the pedal is always going to be spongy, thats why they need to be bled with the nipple at the top.
However it all depends on what you've done to the system as if you've only changed the fronts, then there should'nt really be air that far back!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaah, I just ran out and looked

The pic is of front calipers

Rears, the bleed nipple tilts backwards and yes the line DOES go in HIGHER than the nipple

But the guys said no air coming out, prob cos it can't get out!! LOL

Will get them to do it tomorrow, many MANY thanks

Ah, but Ł40 per hour buys you someone that KNOWS that Bleed Nipples should be at the Highest point when Bleeding in order to remove the air and Load Proportioning Valves (if fitted) must be fully open. Also, that you should Bleed brakes starting at the furthest wheel from the Master Cylinder........

I know the furthest away bit, but I rekcon it's cos the rear line comes in higher than the bleed nipple

They good lads and this isn't the normal kind of car they work on

Not everyone has to go to a named company and spend more than they have too

That's very true.

You can go to an un-named company and spend more than you have to instead

Brakes are brakes. Rear discs all over the place.

Any mechanic should know his/her way round bleeding.

I'll call my sister James, she might know more than the monkeys you are using!
