Default Inconel welding

Hi,
Does anyone know if I can weld my inconel exhaust manifold using a mig welder with stainless wire and argon gas?
I have googled it and it seems you can mate stainless with inconel but no answer on using a mig,it is not a massive amount of welding I just need to adjust the angle of my wastegate as it hits the turbo.
Cheers

I'd get it Tig'd mate inconel manifolds aren't cheap and if it's only a small modification it won't cost much and will look so much nicer too.

Depends on grade of Inconel with TIG as you know (using Inconel rod of course, not stainless), but tbh, I have not heard of anyone using MIG, never mind with success, also with stainless wire...

...I am not sure.

Fair enough if you are geared to go; if not, buying stainless wire (if you don't have it) may mean decent cash, for a gamble if it'll even work. Could pay a lot less to have a shop do it...

Sorry I couldn't be of any further help than that...

I always thought powerflow used Inconel in their mig welders but that's maybe just one of those myths!

TIG only and it needs back purging (filling the inside with gas) and Inconel 625 rod. It's funny stuff to weld but easy enough, sometimes hard to see the weld pool. Do not touch it with a MIG or SS rod.

Powerflow barely use stainless in their exhausts, nevermind using something more expensive for welding wire !!

Try asking here. Although if the two metals can be mixed, I really doubt the actual method of welding would be that critical.
