To be totally honest, if i were going to run that again, or 500 bhp I'd build it from a 200 block i think, but as said some do run 500, i remember Dingy & Brom i think it was running over 500, now whether the blocks shat themselves i don't know, Cossie4i off here too

It was fast

Peaked at 2.23bar on the hub dyno and was still holding 2 bar @ 7400rpm it the limiter .

Not so fast now as I missed a gear and over rev'd it playing with a big bike lol

Your stock pistons & rods will be fine for what you're after, save your money and buy some good brakes

My cousin's engine was built by steve scott 18 months ago. 205 block. Wrc pistons. Gt30. 83lb siemens. 28psi. Cams etc and lots of headwork. Not sure on power but gotta be 500ish. Gives it death regularly and it still purrs. Stacey

Tbh it's the luck of the draw, if it's mapped correctly there's no reason you can't get 500bhp out of a 205, hey even some 200's can't take it.

I ran 473 bhp on mine then added a wizard noz kit and put their 400 bhp jet into the nitrous solenoid it went like fook! And lasted for about 2 years the nitrous twisted the block but was reliable with the 250 solenoid in for many years

My advice is dont risk it, you are asking the question because you have heard of failures using a 205 Block. Its easy for others to suggest you take the risk.

We built a customers engine on a 205 at .5mm oversize bore and a greens conversion cracked the bore very shortly after! Luck of the draw I'm afraid

a well built 205 block will outlast a badly built 200 block ,450 bhp is probably getting near its limit but then again it will totally depend how hard its driven lol

What about liners on a 205 block?? Would strengthen the bores.

It seems the weakpoint is the bores, it happened to ronny on his 200 block, big dirty crack down the middle of the bore, so as said before no one is 100% safe

Mr c that was a Turkish block, known for their inconsistent cast thickness around the block and it ended up very thin on the bore wall at .5 OS
