cleaning a k&n without the kit help
Hi guys and girls got a focus RS mk1 with a k&n gen2 just wanted to know the best way of cleaning and what oil to re-oil it with without buying the kit from them

Not entirely sane
Just buy the kit. You risk shrinking the cotton if you don't clean it properly, e.g with petrol. The make up of the oil is important as well as it affects the way the filter works. Why screw up a filter and/or an engine for the sake of a few quid?
